Genius 21: District Preliminaries Kikumaru's Residence - The day has finally come, the District Preliminaries are just hours away. Eiji is cooking breakfast for both himself and his sister and is lucky to find that there are two yolks inside of one egg. Kaidou is preparing with some target practice in the park, knocking down cans with his snake and getting his shots passed the trees as well. Kawamura's father is planning to make some of his special sushi as soon as he's finished with the tournament. Fuji is walking to school when his sister arrives and gives him a lift. Momoshiro is riding his bike and singing Love Machine. Ryoma is waiting for Momo to pick him up for the tournament. His mom made western food and his dad is just reading the paper. Nanjiro asks if Ryoma will be playing singles and Ryoma replies by saying he doesn't know. Momo arrives and they head off for the tournament. Oishi gets on the bus and sits next to Tezuka, who is in deep thought of the tournament. At the district preliminaries, a school has just won thei first victory. Everyone stops what they're doing when Seigaku arrives in style. Tezuka submits their registration forms and the girls are just screaming to get his attention. Some people noticed that Seigaku had a freshman playing in the tournament. Izumi and Fukawa notices Momo and Ryoma from their street tennis match 2 days ago and didn't realize that they were regular members of Seigaku. The Seigaku Tennis Club was shocked that Tezuka wasn't going to play in the first match against Gyokurin. They were even more shocked to find out that Ryoma and Momo were going to play as Seigaku's number 2 doubles team. Oishi hands Eiji a towel while Eiji hands Oishi a water bottle. Kachiro notices that they have such a great understanding of one another. Momo asks Ryoma to hand him his towel but Ryoma is sitting on it. Seigaku's matches are about begin and the positions are announced. Three out of five sets are need to advance to the next round. Since this is Seigaku's first match they are required to play all five sets even if a winner has already been decided. Izumi and Fukawa are confident that they will be able to defeat Momo and Ryoma with ease. Ryuzaki tells Tezuka not to worry about them but she's a little worried herself. First round is Seigaku's Momoshiro-Echizen pair versus Gyokurin's Izumi-Fukawa pair. Both pairs starts provoking one another before the set and Ryoma mentions that they will only be satisfied if they beat them at their own game. Momo tells Ryoma to use the "AH-UN" strategy. End.
