Genius 2: A Suspicious Child Has Appeared Genius 2: A Suspicious Child Has Appeared Seigaku Junior High - Ryuzaki Sumire, Seigaku's tennis counselor is looking at photo's of her most successful player: Echizen Nanjiro. It's been 25 years since he had graduated and he could've changed Japan's tennis society with his unsurpassed skills. But due to an injury, Nanjiro retired from professional tennis. Meanwhile, Ryoma is hoping to join Seigaku's Tennis Club when is confronted by another 1st year, Horio, hoping to join the team as well. Ryoma ignores Horio and asks a 2nd year for directions to the courts. Well, Ryoma was tricked as he was sent to the wrestling ring instead, along with Horio. They arrive at the courts to find out that the 2nd and 3rd years are playing on a tour, so registration was delayed till the next day. Soon afterwards, 2nd year Hayashi and Ikeda greets the 1st years and asks them to play a little game. The game: Knock the can down with a serve and win 10,000 yens. 200 yens per person to play. Hayashi and Ikeda snicker while the 1st years couldn't wait to get started. The 1st years all miss and Horio is overconfident that he could make the shot easily. He misses nine times and is left with only one shot left. On his last serve the ball hits the frame of his racket and only skins the top of the can. When the 1st years pay 200 yens Hayashi turns the can which shows the real rules: Knock Down The Can Game * 1 Try = 500 Yens (Starting Fee 200 Yens) * Prize = 10,000 Yens Hayashi spots Ryoma watching and asks him to take a try at the game. Ryoma states that they can knocked the can down normally because it's probably filled with rocks. He successfully knocks off the tops part of the can, revealing the rocks hidden inside. Ryoma unleashes more serves the hit the can over and over again. He asks if he would win 1,000,000 yens if he hit it 100 times, hitting the can over again. The others could only watch in awe of Ryoma excellent control. Meanwhile, Sakuno wants to register to join the girls team but her friend only wants to watch this new tennis player. Out of no where Momoshiro comes and hits the can with his serve as well. Sakuno and her friend show up to the courts to find Ryoma, the person her friend was refering to.
